Fondazione Angelo Masieri

Fondazione Angelo Masieri is a cultural institution established in Venice in 1955 by the will of the engineer Paolo Masieri in memory of his son Angelo.

The Foundation is located in the historic center of Venice, in the Volta di Canal Grande.

The history of the restoration project of the pre-nineteenth-century building has seen two of the most significant representatives of modern architecture among its protagonists since the 1950s: Frank Lloyd Wright and Carlo Scarpa.

Following its opening, the building hosted the Architecture Gallery and the editorial office of Phalaris, an architecture periodical, before being used as offices.

Following an extended closure, in 2023, thanks to the support of Heritage Asset Management and Galerie Negropontes, which became partners of the Masieri Foundation, a vital restoration work was started to re-functionalize the Volta di Canal Grande building. The partners of the Masieri Foundation will take care of the cultural programming inside the building in collaboration with the IUAV University of Venice.
